Web Development and Custom Builds

Purpose-Built Digital Solutions

Web development and custom builds mean designing and developing digital solutions that fit your organization—not forcing your needs into prebuilt systems. We build everything from structured, content-driven websites to fully custom tools that support internal workflows, data management, and business growth. Each build is planned around your audiences, goals, and technical requirements, with careful attention to performance, accessibility, and maintainability. The result is work that functions reliably today and can adapt as your needs evolve.

I have viewed the team at Ignition72 as a seamless extension of my internal teams, and I have appreciated their strategically focused ideas, their work ethic, and their ability to connect, both people-wise and project-wise.

Custom Work

Custom digital work is about building tools that support how your organization actually operates. We design and develop solutions such as online employee handbooks, complex forms that we made for a global hotel chain, data portals, intranets, and other purpose-built systems. These projects go beyond standard websites, often supporting internal workflows, data collection, content management, and ongoing operational needs. Each solution is tailored to fit your structure, users, and long-term goals.

We approach this work as a long-term partnership, not a one-time delivery. Our process begins with understanding how information flows through your organization and continues as your needs evolve. We plan functionality, permissions, and integrations carefully, with an emphasis on usability, accessibility, and maintainability. The result is custom digital work that remains useful, manageable, and aligned as your organization grows and changes.

Websites

Our development team builds websites across a range of open-source platforms, including Drupal, WordPress, Webflow, Umbraco, BigTree, and Squarespace. We focus on information architecture, content modeling, performance, accessibility, and long-term maintainability. Each site is planned around real user behavior, editorial workflows, and future growth. Whether the project is a small marketing site or a large, content-heavy platform, we select tools and approaches based on technical fit and longevity, supporting the site from build through launch and ongoing maintenance updates.

Examples of Our Work

e-QIP

The Ignition72 team met extensively with the GSA, OPM, and other agencies to gather comments and ideas for a revised SF-86 security clearance form system. Over 100 individual user tests were conducted, facilitated by Ignition72. Our team led the participants through the test, gathered information, and wrote reports that would inform our design of the new system.

Widener University Law Schools

Our partnership with Widener University led to the building of new websites for two law schools at once, with separate identities, functionality, and content.

Maryland OES

Ignition72 designed and built the University of Maryland Extended Studies Office website, which administers courses for pre-college, undergraduate, and graduate students, as well as other important programs and various professional and continuing education courses. The site required large scale functionality in service of a diverse body of students and stakeholders.

St. Mary’s

Founded in 1791, St. Mary’s Seminary & University is the first Catholic seminary established in the United States. Through its Center for Continuing Formation and Ecumenical Institute, St. Mary’s also provides for advanced theological study, the ongoing formation of those in ministry, and a center of preparation for missionary discipleship. I72 was proud to work with St. Mary’s to develop a site that showcased its distinct strengths, commitment to superior theological training and scholarship and the life and education of seminarians.
