Design and Branding

Branding and Design Grounded in User Experience

Branding and design shape how people experience and understand your organization. We approach design through a user-centered lens, examining interfaces in their real-world business, social, and behavioral contexts. Visual and brand decisions are informed by usability, accessibility, and consistency, ensuring they support both user needs and organizational goals. Whether for a growing team or a large organization, we create brand identities and digital experiences that feel clear, intentional, and easy to use—helping users engage with confidence.

Branding

Branding is about creating a clear, consistent identity that reflects who your organization is and how it should be understood. We work with you to define your brand’s values, voice, and visual direction, grounding every decision in your audience and business goals. Our process is collaborative and deliberate, ensuring the brand feels authentic and aligned.

We research your industry and competitive landscape to establish positioning and messaging that differentiate your brand. From there, we develop the core visual assets along with clear brand guidelines and documentation that support consistent use over time. This approach to brand governance helps teams apply the brand correctly across materials and channels, ensuring it remains recognizable, practical, and durable as your organization grows.

UX/UI Design

Website design starts with understanding the people who will use the site. We begin by researching user needs, behaviors, and expectations through interviews, surveys, focus groups, and data analysis. This work helps us see the site from the user’s perspective and identify where clarity, usability, or functionality can be improved.

From there, our design and strategy team defines the problems to solve and plans the structure and experience of the site. We create user personas, journey maps, and wireframes to test ideas early, then develop prototypes and validate them through user and usability testing. Designs are refined through iteration and feedback, ensuring the final site is intuitive, effective, and aligned with both user needs and organizational goals.

Great design is a team effort. This project was shaped and guided by user testing and client feedback, we loved collaborating and working together to create a meaningful and useful product.

Examples of Our Work

e-QIP

The Ignition72 team met extensively with the GSA, OPM, and other agencies to gather comments and ideas for a revised SF-86 security clearance form system. Over 100 individual user tests were conducted, facilitated by Ignition72. Our team led the participants through the test, gathered information, and wrote reports that would inform our design of the new system.

Widener University Law Schools

Our partnership with Widener University led to the building of new websites for two law schools at once, with separate identities, functionality, and content.

Maryland OES

Ignition72 designed and built the University of Maryland Extended Studies Office website, which administers courses for pre-college, undergraduate, and graduate students, as well as other important programs and various professional and continuing education courses. The site required large scale functionality in service of a diverse body of students and stakeholders.

St. Mary’s

Founded in 1791, St. Mary’s Seminary & University is the first Catholic seminary established in the United States. Through its Center for Continuing Formation and Ecumenical Institute, St. Mary’s also provides for advanced theological study, the ongoing formation of those in ministry, and a center of preparation for missionary discipleship. I72 was proud to work with St. Mary’s to develop a site that showcased its distinct strengths, commitment to superior theological training and scholarship and the life and education of seminarians.
